The Massachusetts-based company Stream Global Services has announced plans to hire up to 120 new employees in for its Watertown service center. North Country Public Radio's Nora Flaherty has the details.

The new employees will be hired to provide customer support for a "leading e-commerce company" Stream's signed a new contract with. They couldn't provide the name of the company, but Stream Watertown site operations director Brian Black says the contract is a testament to the success of the local center:

There's a level of customer service that the team locally provides that really differentiates us locally and also North America, our employees are able to provide customers with a level of satisfaction that's kind of led to our history of success and this new opportunity.

Black says the new jobs will be full-time positions. New employees will become part of Stream's worldwide workforce of about 30,000.

The Watertown service center is located in the former Woolworths in City Center Plaza. It's been open since 2003, and already employs about 300 full and part-time workers. There's more information online about the jobs at stream.com. For North Country Public Radio, I'm Nora Flaherty.
