CHAPEL HILL, N.C., February 17, 2014 Between January 1, 2012 and December 31,
2013, jobs4america recorded 176,372 new US contact center jobs created, 76,372
more than their 100,000 original goal.
With this first goal met, jobs4america is ready to do it again.
“We are pleased to announce that the US Contact Center industry is responsible for the creation of almost 180,000 net new jobs in a trying economy,” stated Matt Zemon, Chairman of jobs4america and CEO of American Support. “In 2012 we had a dream of creating 100,000 new US based contact center jobs. Thanks to the efforts of companies across America we have met this goal and are ready to do it again.”
Jobs4america uses data compiled by Dallas-based Site
Selection Group to record US job creation.
Over the two-year period, the results are:
2012-2013 US Call Center Jobs Created Results:
- Jobs created from new US call center sites: 84,971
- Jobs created from expansions of existing US call
center sites: 143,319
- Jobs lost due to downsizing and closures of
existing sites: 51,918
- Total net new US call center jobs created: 176,372
“During 2012 and 2013 many US companies recognized that using US call center agents resulted in a better customer experience and more sales,” continued Zemon. “We are thankful to those companies that chose to expand their US operations and to bring the jobs back home.”
